Jagua (botanical name Genipa Americana) is an edible fruit that grows in the Amazon jungle. I LOVE and have used this product for many years in a more unconventional way. Specifically, I used it as primitive body art for my renaissance garb and a precursor to tattoos. In my picture, my arm is jagua gel and my leg is tattooed. I had used jagua on my leg for several years before the tattoos. My arm is now tattooed but I still use jagua on my hand of that arm and to add detail around the tattoos. Highly recommended.

I really like the product because it stays on but the reason for the 4stars was he fact that it is a lil bit thick and I had a hard time getting it into the applicator bottle. And you can’t touch the stuff because it will stain your hands and nails. So an easier way of getting the product from its original bottle into the applicator bottle would be really nice . Other then that it was a very good product and it stays a long time on the skin then regular henna

I've been using this product for five months and there is still plenty of product left. I love the stain power of this jagua gel. I've used other jagua gels where the dye release dye took up to a day to stain but this gel acted very released it stain in less time than that. I did not like the way it tingled (irritated) my skin while it was drying. I have to usually wash it off after a few minutes or else it will give me a red rash where I applied my design. I have used this product on clients who enjoyed the tingly feeling but my own skin was not a fan. Other than that the price and product size is very sufficient. I will purchase again if the formula changes.

Refrigeration and cleaning your tip right after use makes next application easier. One finished it is long lasting and eye catching. Do cover your arm or hands over night if you apply before bed. It take like 30 - 40 to dry, and it stays flat on the skin. It does stain quickly so use gloves, and you must keep it refrigerated after opening. The shipping was fast and is a good starting kit I highly recommend this product to anyone trying to experiment with henna.

Have purchased this product the last 2 years for vacation in Florida. The kids, their friends and grown-ups all love it. We sport tattoo's all vacation long. Even with swimming in the ocean, the pool and showering the tattoo's remain black for a good week and last longer without the swimming wear and tear. Product comes with different size applicators which makes it very easy to use. If your looking for a permanent tattoo alternative this is it.

The applicator bottle is perfect for easily squeezing the jagua out. My hand hardly cramps while using it (compared to using bottles made of thicker plastic). The variety of tip sizes are great for creating both fine-lined designs and larger ones. I'm very satisfied with this purchase and I will buy this again.

I ordered this for my step-daughter, age 15. It arrived quickly, and three designs later, I am happy to report that she is very happy with the product. We had never heard of Jagua before. I found it searching online for something to replace the markers she is using to draw on herself and all her friends. She found the jagua very easy to use and reported that she did not have to squeeze hard at all to get a steady line from the applicator bottle. She did learn from her first design, on her own wrist, to use a thinner line. It looked thin going on, but once it was absorbed and darkened, she got more than she bargained for. Designs 2 and 3, on her upper arm and my wife's ankle, came out more delicate. The jagua really does darken! My step-daughter had no trouble at all convincing her friends at school that she got a real tattoo. The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that I wish the product came with more instructions in the way of tips and tricks. For example, I'm guessing that maybe her wrist got so dark because skin on the wrist is thinner and absorbs more??? Some more guidance for absolute beginners, and tricks of the trade would be welcome. But in general, this is a great product and we'll be ordering more when she makes it through her initial 2 oz. purchase.
